Marvel and Netflix put forth yet another minute-long teaser for the upcoming comic adaption Jessica Jones today. This, the upcoming Luke Cage series, and the preceding Daredevil series all take place in the same world, though tonally they will be different. To make this clear, this particular teaser identifies Jessica’s neighborhood as Hell’s Kitchen, the part of NYC that Daredevil defends.
The teaser also shows off another of Jess’s superpowers: super-jumping. One minute she’s walking down the foggy neon-lit streets, and one camera pan later, she’s somehow landed on a high fire escape near her office, Alias Investigations. Jessica was once a superhero, but things didn’t work out very well. Here’s Marvel’s official synposis:
Ever since her short-lived stint as a Super Hero ended in tragedy, Jessica Jones has been rebuilding her personal life and career as a hot-tempered, sardonic, badass private detective in Hell’s Kitchen, New York City. Plagued by self-loathing, and a wicked case of PTSD, Jessica battles demons from within and without, using her extraordinary abilities as an unlikely champion for those in need…especially if they’re willing to cut her a check.
All 13 episodes of Jessica Jones will premiere on Netflix November 20.
